It will usually take between one to two working days. However, if you have requested someone sooner we will do our best to arrange for you to meet your cleaner the same day or the next day.
If you are not going to be present when your cleaner is cleaning your home, then you may choose to give your cleaner a key or have a key safe fitted. Many of our clients are busy working professionals, and request their cleaner holds a key on their behalf. Each cleaner has been fully vetted in their own home and reference checked for your peace of mind.
What do I do if my cleaner isn’t able to come?
If for any reason your cleaner is not available to clean your house on their scheduled day, they will call you to let you know in advance, and will try to re-arrange to come on a different day. If the clean cannot be rearranged and you would like us to provide an alternative cleaner, just call the office and we will introduce you to another cleaner - we will do our best to accommodate you - even at very short notice. However, if it is more convenient for you, any ‘missed’ hours can be used at a future date. Please note, we do not refund for ‘missed’ hours as the alternative cleaner service is available.
What happens if I am not happy with my cleaner?
Occasionally, a cleaner may not be quite the right fit for you. Don’t worry – that’s what we’re here for! Although we don’t manage the cleaner, or the cleaning itself, one call to us is all it takes to be introduced to an alternative cleaner. We will also act on your behalf to let your original cleaner know they are no longer required.
How do you select and vet your cleaners?
We select and vet our cleaners thoroughly, and very carefully! All prospective cleaners complete a detailed application form, telling us all about them and their housekeeping and cleaning experience, and their qualities and skills. We will conduct an initial telephone interview with applicants who show enough potential. We then arrange to visit the applicant at their home. This allows us to see their standards and values and also get to know them personally and conduct a face to face interview. We check what experience they have and obtain details of their references, we also take copies of photo ID and proof of address. The applicant will only be added to our database once these checks have been completed and Jo feels she would be happy for them to be a cleaner in her own home!
I have pets. Is this a problem?
Not at all! When we conduct interviews with our cleaners, we cover a whole range of topics, which includes pets. We check if our cleaners are happy to work in homes with dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, lizards (any animal you can think of) This means your cleaner knows exactly what to expect, and ensures you are perfectly matched from the outset.
Can I meet my cleaner before they start?
Yes of course. This is something we strongly recommend. It means you can discuss your needs, and access arrangements and gives you a good first impression. However if you are in a hurry - and need the cleaner to start straight away - you can meet them a little earlier on the day of the first clean. Whatever suits you best. (NB the agreement you and your cleaner make over the specifics of the job form the 'contract for services' between you and them - in cleaning this is usually verbal but can be written if preferred).
Will I have the same cleaner each week?
Yes! Our business is built around providing continuity and consistency. Our way of operating is to introduce you to a cleaner who will be dedicated to you each week. This allows you to build up trust and a good relationship, and ensures you receive a more efficient clean week by week. A good understanding means you can rotate tasks and they will be able to work under their own initiative if that suits you best.
What tasks will my cleaner do for me?
Pretty much everything you would expect them to do (within typical health and safety parameters). Standard requests include general floor cleaning, surface cleaning and polishing, as well as general room cleaning, to include the kitchen and bathrooms. Some clients request different tasks such as ironing, bed making, bed changing, putting a clothes wash on, doing washing up, sorting food cupboards for out of date products and pretty much anything else you can think of… the list is endless!
So I can ask for help with ironing?
Most definitely! This is a common request from a number of our clients. Any ironing will be completed within the allotted weekly hours at your home, and the ironing can be either left out, or put away wherever you want it.
Who supplies the cleaning products?
Usually you and your cleaner will agree to use products etc provided by you . Your cleaner will use your cleaning products, including your vacuum cleaner, mop, sprays and cloths etc. This ensures your home smells exactly how you want it to, with the products that you prefer. Most importantly, it prevents any cross contamination issues between other households your cleaner works in. Further, the insurance for accidental damage included as part of your quarterly retainer to Time For You covers damage from products supplied by the householder but not the cleaner.
What if I’m not happy with the quality of work?
We always contact you after the first clean to ensure you are completely satisfied. In the unlikely event you are not fully satisfied, we will initially try to resolve this by feeding your comments back to your cleaner (provided you are happy for us to do so) However if you decide you would prefer to be introduced to a new cleaner straight away, then, with our ever growing database of fully vetted cleaners, we will be able to action this.
That all sounds great. How soon can I get started?
The next step is to call us, send us an email or request a callback so we can obtain some initial details and arrange to meet you to discuss your requirements in person. We appreciate many of our clients work long hours, so we can be flexible and meet you in the evening or at weekends - whichever is convenient to you.
