About Manchester South

The majority of the Time For You areas are covered within the borough of Trafford. Notable localities within South Trafford including the likes of Altrincham, Timperley and Hale.

The area is well known for its grade 1 listed buildings, including Dunham Massey Hall which was built all the way back in 1616. This is a popular tourist attraction with the grounds and hall open to visitors, well worth a visit! Just down the road from Cheadle Hulme you’ll also be able to find Bramhall Hall, a 14th century, grade 1 listed building also open to the public.

There’s no shortage of parks and open areas. Sale is home to the hidden gem that is Walkden Gardens (M33). Ranked number 1 on the list of things to do in Sale, here you’ll find the famous dovecote and lots of interesting walkways to enjoy which is why it’s known locally as ‘the maze’. Not far down the road in Lymm, you can find the tranquil Lymm Damm which was built in 1824. Situated in WA13, here there’s no shortage of activities to get involved in, whether it be cycling, angling or just simply going on a long walk to take in the wonderful surroundings.

Manchester is of course famous for being a huge footballing city, however it’s also home to a number of smaller football clubs. Altrincham Football club play their games at Moss Lane and have done since 1910. They’re known for causing the occasional FA cup upset in years gone by. You may also see Sam and Michaela playing football for their local football team Altrincham Hale FC, on Beech Avenue in Timperley!

If it’s shopping you like, Manchester South boasts the Trafford centre, just off the M60 Built in 1998, it’s the third largest shopping centre by size in the UK and well known for its Christmas lights display every winter. Whether it’s shopping, eating, watching films or even a spot of mini golf that takes your fancy, you’ll find it all here.
