Recent Testimonial

My partner and I have recently started using Time for you services. I have to say my house was immaculate when we arrived home on Friday night, Liuda has great attention to detail. She carried out everything I had asked on the task sheet with no complaints or problems. Everything was neatly put away and she had gone over and above to ensure our house was impeccably clean. We feel so comfortable having her come in when we are work. I would highly recommend Liuda to anyone. Thank you Liuda!!

Many thanks

Who are you?

We are part of a national premier domestic cleaning company set up to take the worry and frustration out of finding a local cleaner.

Lynn Foltyn and Lesley Wardman, who run Time for Your Retford, aim to provide a first-class professional service supporting clients to find affordable and flexible solutions for their housekeeping needs.

We currently provide this service to many satisfied clients and we are very experienced at finding efficient domestic cleaners who are motivated to make sure they provide a reliable cleaning service and quality cleaning.

How do you select your cleaners?

Very carefully!  All potential cleaners are interviewed in their own home so we can see for ourselves the standards and values that they live by.  During this face to face interview we find out what housekeeping and cleaning experience they have and find out more about the qualities and skills they possess.  We also complete comprehensive security checks including identity confirmation and address validity.

We reference check the cleaners we have met and interviewed, as we want you to have high quality domestic services.  We want you to be relaxed in the knowledge that your cleaner will leave your home spotless. Therefore, throughout our selection process we are always assessing whether the applicant would pass our most stringent test - would we be happy to have the applicant as a cleaner in our own home?  Only if the answer is yes, and they have passed the above checks, are the best domestic cleaners added to our database.

Can I meet my home cleaner before they start?

Yes.  Placing the right cleaner with our clients is of prime importance.  Remember our aim is to ensure that you receive super cleaning services with top rated cleaners.  We will get to know you and your house cleaning requirements so we can pick a cleaner to suit you from our extensive list of experienced cleaners.

You will be able to meet and approve your cleaner before they start so we can make sure you are both comfortable with each other and you are 100% happy.  At the meeting you can also discuss your bespoke cleaning needs and discuss access arrangements.

Will I have the same cleaner each week?

Definitely!  It is our policy to introduce you to a reliable, trustworthy and efficient cleaner dedicated to your household cleaning needs - the same person for each clean.

We will introduce a cleaner who will be dedicated to your regular clean so they can become familiar with your home and your requirements.  This allows you to build up trust and a good relationship with your cleaner and means you can rotate tasks within your home or let the cleaner work under their own initiative.

We find that having your own bespoke cleaner who provides your regular cleaning services suits many of our clients e.g. busy working professionals who may need their cleaner to hold a key on their behalf, clients who may need dependable cleaning services for elderly parents.

What tasks will my cleaner normally carry out?

Your household cleaner will do all the usual vacuuming, dusting, polishing, kitchen and bathroom cleaning.  They will do most other general household cleaning within your home at your request and will be happy to tailor a package to meet your exact requirements.  You buy the right amount of time to do the tasks you want completed whether this is general cleaning, changing bed linen, emptying bins, cleaning inside the fridge or microwave, sorting food cupboards for out-of-date products.  The list (within reason) is endless.  The choice is yours.

By having your own dedicated cleaner you will be able to specify which household cleaning jobs are done on a regular basis and which jobs are done on a rotational basis.  As a bespoke cleaning service you can vary the tasks as and when required.

What about ironing?

"I am fed up with ironing my shirts!  I need someone to clean my house and do my ironing."

Is this a familiar nightmare?  Well it does not have to be.  We can introduce you to a cleaner who will carry out all aspects of interior domestic cleaning and provide ironing services too!  Ironing is a common request from our clients. Any ironing will be completed within the allocated hours at your home and the ironing can be either left out, or put away wherever you want.

Who supplies the cleaning materials?

Your house keeper will use your cleaning products and equipment including vacuum, mop, cloths, sprays, polish, etc. This ensures that your preferred products are used which is particularly important if anyone in the house suffers from allergies or your furniture or floors need particular products.  It will also keep your costs low and eliminate cross-contamination between different addresses e.g. when vacuum cleaners are transported from house to house.  Many of our clients prefer this knowing that their house after the professional household clean will be spotless and smell exactly how they want it to.

(Please note: insurance provided for each clean does not cover damage caused by bleach)

Do you have a minimum number of hours?

Yes.  Our minimum number of hours for a clean is two hours.  But we can offer flexibility so that you can ensure that your package offers affordable domestic cleaning.  Each client's needs vary and different cleaning schedules can be organised.  For example daily or weekly cleaning schedules can be arranged.  You choose the preferred day (or days of the week) and also the time you want your cleaner.

Do you have insurance cover?

Insurance for each clean is included as standard and our domestic cleaning services are backed by a trusted and professional insurance service.

This gives you peace of mind that you will be covered should expensive damage be accidentally caused during the clean - you almost certainly won't ever need this, but it is nice to know it is there just in case.

Do I give the cleaner a key?

This is completely at your discretion.  Some householders are at home during the clean; some give a key after a month or so and some give a key on the day of the first clean.  It is totally up to you and what you are comfortable with.

What if I am not happy with the quality of work or my cleaning person?

We will always contact you after the second clean to make sure that everything has gone to your complete satisfaction.  In the unlikely event that you are not fully satisfied, we will endeavour to resolve this with feedback to your cleaner as long as you are happy with this course of action.  If you decide that you would prefer to be introduced to a new cleaner straight away then this would not be a problem.

We want you to continue to receive quality domestic cleaning.  If you were ever less than completely satisfied with our service, please simply call our local office and we will gladly remedy the situation because we only want the best for you, our client.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your domestic cleaner we will do all we can to find a home cleaner who is right for you.

Similarly if your private cleaner terminates we will find a replacement quality cleaner for you as quickly as possible.

How do I start?

Please contact us either by phone, email or the 'request call back' feature.  We will arrange a convenient time to come and visit you at home so we can discuss your needs in person and find out first-hand what you require from your domestic services.  If you work we can be flexible with our appointment times.

Our Philosophy

We believe life is too short to spend it cleaning

Lynn Foltyn and Lesley Wardman

Lynn and Lesley provide local domestic cleaning services in and around Retford.  Over the years they have both juggled full-time work with families and housekeeping so they know just how hectic and busy life can get.

Prior to starting Time For You, Lesley was a Deputy Head Teacher and she enjoyed teaching children of primary school age.  Lynn previously worked for Doncaster College and has since run her own successful business.

So they understand just how hectic and busy life can get.  They know that domestic cleaning and ironing is very time consuming and that finding a reliable and experienced cleaner can be extremely difficult.

Their main aim is to help clients to gain easy access to reliable cleaners at a competitive price, but importantly, an affordable price which ensures the cleaners are rewarded fairly for the fantastic cleaning services they provide.

Their aim: to introduce you to the best domestic cleaning services in Retford

Retford is one of the oldest boroughs in England.  The first documentary evidence of Retford is found in the Domesday Survey of 1086.  The ancient market town was granted its first charter (the right to hold a fair) by Henry III in 1246.

The origins of its name are unknown. One suggestion is that it gets its original name, Redforde, from an ancient ford crossing the River Idle.  Here the river water was tinged red due to the red clay river bed and frequent crossing of people and livestock disturbing the clay river bed.

The town was all but destroyed by fire in 1528 but managed to prosper again thanks to the building of the Great North Road, the Chesterfield Canal and the London to York railway.

The town played a remarkable part in the story of the Pilgrim Fathers, who fled to America in 1620 after being persecuted for their religious beliefs.  Today you can explore their story on the Mayflower Trail: a circular tour starting at nearby Babworth.

Our Area

Household cleaning services which will leave more "Time For You!" so here are some ideas for you free time

A tourist driving through the District of Bassetlaw will see beautiful countryside and picturesque villages, and find many local attractions.  When you have more time for you, you'll find plenty of things to see and do with family, friends or just by yourself.  Here are a few ideas:-

  • The Idle Valley Nature Reserve is a spectacular wetland Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) situated along the western bank of the River Idle and east of the villages of Sutton cum Lound and Lound.  Here you can enjoy fantastic walks, loads of birds on the lake, an amazing children's adventure area and of course that all important cup of coffee.
  • In the centre of Retford is The Majestic Theatre.  Run by volunteers, it is being lovingly restored and renovated to it's original splendour.  It is an ideal venue for a variety of entertainment and well worth a visit.

  • Of course you could visit the legendary home of Robin Hood.  Once part of a royal hunting forest, Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve covers 450 acres and incorporates some truly ancient areas of native woodland where slender birch trees grow alongside more than one thousand veteran oaks, most of which are over 500 years old!The largest and most famous of these is the Major Oak which is linked throughout the world to Sherwood's legendary hero Robin Hood.
  • If you are interested in history then you may enjoy a visit to All Saints' Church: one of the key landmarks in the story of the Pilgrim Fathers who left England to form English settlements in what was to become America. Located in Babworth, the church dates back to the 15th century. In 1586, the congregation formed a Separatist movement under the leadership of Parson Clyfton.  A young William Bradford  walked several miles on Sundays to listen to Clyfton’s sermons, and outside Babworth Church you can still follow the path he took from his home in Austerfield.
  • Following a visit to All Saints' Church, you may be inspired to follow the Mayflower Trail.    This circular tour takes you through peaceful villages and beautiful countryside. It includes many historic sites associated with the principal figures in the Pilgrim Father's story. The Trail begins at All Saints Church. From here, it leads through Barnby Moor to Scrooby, where you can visit St.Wilfrid's Church and see The Manor House, the former home of William Brewster.  There are many significant places to visit on the trail including Sturton-le-Steeple, the birthplace of John Robinson, and North Wheatley home of Hugh Bromhead, one of the Gainsborough Separatists.  You can also visit the Bassetlaw Museum in Retford which is well worth a visit.
  • For a great family day you could try a visit to Sundown Adventureland which is specifically designed for the under 10's.  Here you will find a huge jungle themed indoor play area.  The children can also enjoy Robin Hood's World, the Rocky Mountain Railroad, Smugglers Cove and Crash Landing (to name a few).  It's well worth a visit at Christmas too.  Take a look on Trip Advisor to read its many reviews.
