Job Description: Private Housekeeper / Cleaner (Part-Time) Location: Wretton (near Downham Market) Pay: £16.00 per hour Hours: Up to 10 hours per week (typically split across two visits) About the Role We are seeking an experienced, reliable and detail-focused Housekeeper / Cleaner to support a busy family in maintaining a large farmhouse. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and enjoys creating clean, comfortable and welcoming living spaces. The successful applicant will become a trusted presence within the household, so professionalism, consistency, discretion and reliability are essential. The successful candidate will be trusted to work independently, use their initiative and ensure the home remains clean, organised and running smoothly. Cleaning + Thorough cleaning throughout the home + Dusting, vacuuming and mopping + Cleaning bathrooms and kitchen areas + Changing bed linen + Cleaning mirrors and internal glass + Regular attention to skirting boards, door handles, light switches and other high-contact areas + Cleaning beneath and around furniture + Vacuuming under and between sofa cushions + Periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as oven and microwave cleaning + Maintaining consistently high standards throughout the property Household Support + Laundry, folding and putting away clothes + Ironing + General household organisation and tidying + Identifying areas that require attention and taking appropriate action + Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the household About You The ideal candidate will be: + Experienced in a housekeeping role or similar position + Reliable, punctual and dependable + Trustworthy and respectful of privacy and confidentiality + Friendly, professional and personable + Hardworking with a strong work ethic + Highly organised and self-motivated + Able to work independently and manage their time effectively + Comfortable taking ownership of their work and using their initiative + Passionate about maintaining exceptional standards within a home environment + Naturally detail-oriented, noticing the little things that others might miss Essential Requirements + Previous housekeeping experience, or experience in a similar role + Excellent attention to detail + Ability to provide professional references + Right to work in the UK + Reliable transport to and from Wretton Recruitment Process As this role involves working within a private family home, we are committed to finding the right person for both the family and the successful applicant.
